Isabelle Rezazadeh, better known as Rezz has swept the world with her unique take on downtempo minimalistic music. The combination of the industrial anticipating synth with the hard hitting low end that always accompanies her tracks has proven to be truly infectious and has set this mau5trap star on a path to immense success. Last night Rezz brought her Mass Manipulation Tour to the Novo Theater in Downtown Los Angeles with support Haywire and MadZach. We unfortunately did not make it in time for MadZach, but luckily got a chance to see Haywyre in action before the main event. Haywyre reminded us of an old school jazz artist, improvising his every move on the key board as he played his tracks. Notably dropping his hit track “Do You Don’t You”, it was a treat to see the screen close up on his keyboard and took his tracks to new heights with a live performance.
As Haywyre left the stage the open theater setting was quiet before she emerged, but once the glowing flashes of her signature glasses began, an enormous roar erupted from all around. She impressed with a set that stretched back to some of her early works mixed in with her ‘Mass Manipulation’ album to give us a glimpse into the journey that got Rezz to where she is now. Dropping tracks like “Purple Gusher”, “Plague”, and “Premonition”, any true fan of Rezz would have been ecstatic to get nearly every major track played.
If you get the chance make sure to catch Rezz on tour here, you will not be disappointed.
