Previously, we had the pleasure of speaking with Joshua Vega, who goes by Ricky Vaughn, about his recent accomplishments, goals and opinions regarding the current state of Moombahton within the electronic scene. Today, November 25th, marks the release of Josh’s anticipated EP of the year, “You’re Welcome N.I.G.G.A”, and we could not be happier with the sounds we’re receiving for FREE.
The 8-track EP explores that original, Moombahton sound, which Josh desired to bring back from his days as the producer for Sazon Booya. The EP also features 3 collaborations, which are all available for a free download today. Check out our track-by-track song review below!
“You’re Welcome”: The EP begins with an absolute banger of a collaboration, with some of New York City’s well-known, Moombahton producers, Maxx & EJ (Link this to name -https://www.facebook.com/MaxXandEJ). Get hyped up for the EP with this Moombah, match made in heaven.
“N.I.G.G.A”: With the acronym meaning, “Never Ignorant Getting Goals Accomplished,” track #2 will have your speakers bleeding with an original, big-room, Moombah sound.
“Oye Mami Part 2”: If you love Sazon Booya’s original version of “Oye Mami”, than get ready for a sequel that will rejuvenate anyone’s hope in the future of Moombahton sound.
“Original Kings”: Ricky Vaughn teams up with the up and rising DJ – Paul Lee. These two dominate with a mix of Reggae and Hip-Hop sounds to make “Original Kings”, another Ricky Vaughn favorite.
“Mal De Ojo”: Nothing but straight, Moombah hitting hard with each and every synth. This, right here, is why Moombahton is here to stay.
“Razz”: Coming in at #6, off the 8-track EP is a personal favorite of mine -“Razz” feat. Yotan. The two create a heavy sound that reminds me of nothing more than straight moombahcore noise. Blast this and you’ll have everyone jumping for more.
“Back On The Scene”: The final collaboration is more of a pop, style release featuring New York City’s, The R.O.A.R Rock, Moombahton, plus catchy, pop synths are more than okay with us!
“My Body” (She’s Sexy): Josh ends on a more melodic side with the release of a saucy, salsa-moving track titled “My Body”. Grab that significant other and get to groovin’.
