D&B star Rido is the duo composed of well known drum and bass producers Blackout and Metalheadz. The two producers are respected figures in the drum and bass scene and have each risen to fame through their fast paced beats and exclusive releases. However, Rido is their collaboration that has been in the works for over six years. The two gifted minds mesh their creative abilities to create an entirely new drum and bass project. Both Blackout and Metalheadz focus on their solo projects while also making time to produce as Rido. Rido has been a staple in the drum and bass community for sometime and we couldn’t be happier to hear about the release of their newest album.
Their 11 track Rhythm Of Life album came out just days ago and has already been generating a ton of noise in the industry. It’s packed with some of the hottest drum and bass and you can expect to hear tracks from it in any drum and bass sets. With several tracks that have a dark and ominous sound to it, this album is currently the hottest newest release in the drum and bass scene. If you’re a true drum and bass lover then be sure to give this latest work of art a long listen. Furthermore, Rido were nice enough to compile a list of their top five drum and bass tracks to play in their live sets. Rido picked these tracks exclusively for RaveRafting so be sure to check them out and look out for them during live sets!
1) Mefjus – Blitz
Rido: Incredible mixdown by dr.Mefjus. Track has so much power but its soft as well. Pure magic Martin 🙂
2) Rido and Counterstrike – Let it roll
Rido: One and only collab so far with my buddy Justin(Counterstrike). We were so amazed with the respond from the fans. And when ever I play it it smashes the place.
3) Prolix and Rido – Exploration
Rido: We had so much fun during this collab with sir Prolix. That it reminds me we should finish the other one we started!
4) Black sun empire and State of mind – Unconscious
Rido: Great build up with devastating drop. I love the modulated mids on the bass. Really smooth and watery.
5) Rido – Cut the midrange
Rido: One of the last tracks that I wrote for my album. I took me some time to get the intro right, but it fits the track well and builds up nicely to the almost classic vocal sample from the early rave era. Then the Bass drops 🙂
