Kingdom Rave truly outdid itself at Imperial Ballroom in Atlanta Friday 12/11. The fantastic lineup along with a great venue choice truly set the tone for a night that ATL fans will remember.
Here is a little amateur clip to give you an idea of the vibes going on.
The venue was one that hasn’t hosted an EDM event, yet they completely transformed the place to cater to a great show. With multiple stages in large open rooms, multiple bars, a variety of lasers that spread hundreds of feet, and inflatable bounce houses and seating areas, attendees were more than impressed at this new venue choice.
A total of 11 artists hit the stages at Imperial Ballroom, each performing for about an hour. A few of the artists before RL Grime included Sylo, Midnite Panda and The Widdler. Sylo did a tremendous job of combining hard hitting drops and incorporating punk rock and classic pop songs to bring nostalgia to the crowd. Midnite Panda hit us with a mixture of trap and deep sounds. And off in a separate room, The Widdler started off the night with progressive dub sounds with an amazing background of lights and lasers. Other artists to make note of include Double Down, Pauze! and Organik.
RL Grime started off with a long and building intro in darkness, dropping immediately into TNGHT’s “Acrylics”. He played everything you wanted to hear; a few of his classics like “Core” were played along with What So Not’s “Tell Me” and “Kingpin” collaboration with Big Sean. Throwing in a couple of new hard hitting tracks like Mr. Carmack’s “Solutions” with Donnis, the crowd was getting exactly what they paid for and more. Everyone in the venue was on their feet; the openness of the venue allowed for plenty of room to head bang and/or get into whatever groove you were feeling. We look forward to more of RL Grime in the dirty south and everyone else he appears in the festival season to come.
