Trap and future bass have just combined forces to create a very innovative track. RL Grime and What So Not (a project between Australian producers Flume and Emoh Instead) have teamed up for “Tell Me”, a very slick release that dabbles in a future bass build-up and a monstrous trap drop.
The track showcases aspects commonly associated with both producers. The high-pitched vocal splicing of Flume, the funky future styling of Emoh Instead, and the thumping trap synths of RL Grime. As future bass gradually envelops electronic music, it will be interesting to see how trap music adapts; this will surely be one of the most important tracks of the year.
