As we get closer and closer to our favorite Florida festival: EDCO Nov 12-14th, 2021, we are zooming in on all things EDC and bringing you the latest on everything you need to know to experience the ultimate weekend under the electric sky.
EDC takes over Downtown Orlando’s Tinker Field this November and transforms it into a full immersion of lights, music, art, and positive energy; something they like to call the “World Of EDC” an immersive production of STAGES, interactive PERFORMERS, ART installations, carnival RIDES, and all dance MUSIC you’ll need to keep you dancing all weekend. Let’s dive headfirst into a look at the “World Of EDC”!
The Stages:
Each of EDC’s stages represents a distinct union of technology and nature, where elements mix to ignite the senses and inspire the imagination. We’re talking full-scale stages featuring flames, fountains, and 90-foot tall LED structures that pulse with the music. This year EDCO will feature FIVE stages including, CircuitGROUNDS, NeonGARDEN, StereoBLOOM, and The Wide Awake Art Car, and this year an all NEW kineticFIELD. Each with a different theme sure to keep you mesmerized all weekend.
The Art:
Every festival has its own unique display of art and that art helps contribute to the atmosphere of the festival. Parts of that atmosphere become profound parts of your memory, sometimes it’s as simple as the grass you lay down on, and other times it’s as complex as an art installation that’s out of this world. The interactive art installations scattered throughout EDC are bridges the Insomniac crew constructs between nature and technology, there to inspire all who come across them. Last EDCO Insomniac blew our minds with three large-scale art installations, coming straight out of EDCLV; Anima, Paraluna, and Pixel Forest. With that, we entered a world of three-dimensional superstructures, colorful glow-in-the-dark environments, and life-sized LED-infused flora and fauna. Check out some of 2019 magic here! EDC is known for meticulously curating themed atmospheres to make the festival come to life. This year’s theme is KineticZen and we can’t wait to see what Insomniac has come up with!
The Rides:
What’s a carnival without rides? After all, it’s in the name; Electric Daisy CARNIVAL. EDC’s landscape is a playground with all your favorite full-size thrills. All rides are free to ride with general admission, ranging from relaxing rolls to sky-high and exhilarating experiences. Don’t let the weekend slip away without riding the Ferris wheel, you’ll get a bird’s eye view of a paradise kaleidoscope of light shows!
The Performers:
Of course you cant attend an EDC without indulging in the plethora of whimsical characters or as EDC likes to call them, Funkdafied Freaks! Decked out in over-the-top costumes crafted especially for Insomniac, from dancers, stilters, aerialists, circus performers, and clowns you can expect this motley crew to enchant you, amaze you, and play with you all weekend long.
The Music:
Over three days, an eclectic mix of dance music acts will take over Tinker Field! Insomniac Founder Pasquale Rotella‘s team officially released EDC Orlando‘s 2021 lineup back in July, thanks to some sly probing from a few of the festival’s artists. EDC Orlando teased the lineup release via Instagram, and in came the wave of bean-spilling comments from artists like Louis The Child, R3HAB, Devault, Galantis, and more! The comments section essentially disclosed each artists’ inclusion in the lineup. Whether Insomniac was in on this or not, it evoked a thrilling buzz, and fans basically lost ALL of their **** with excitement. Soon after, Insomniac responded with the full talent roster for this year’s event. Tending the decks at EDCO this year are some of the biggest names in dance music, including Zedd, Kygo, Kaskade, Excision, Armin van Buuren, and so many more! Get ready to groove to the same universal beat, see the official lineup below!
Under the Electric Sky, we come together to celebrate life, love, art, and music. From the stages and the sound to the pyrotechnics and the performers, the Insomniac team ignites the senses with relentless creativity. Imagination and positive energy are the currency of this place.
