I lived in the Czech Republic – trust me when I tell you that the Czechs know how to party. I mean, they drink the most beer per capita in the world, so it’s no surprise that Robotic Pirate Monkey’s ‘Banana Cannon’ is pure party. These days, it’s not enough to have a hype song with a huge beat. You need to somehow connect to the fans while still standing out. Banana Cannon combines the familiar dub and trap that we know, but blends it in a new way. It avoids the problem that dub and trap have seen recently by standing out, rather than fitting in.

Banana Cannon builds with a simple drumstep influenced trap beat, steps it up into a quicker double-time dance hall like beat, then crashes with a nice drop leading into that familiar dub beat pattern we know. It further progresses into a Pretty Lights-esque jam. Its slow. It’s deep. It’s lyrical. And most importantly: It’s different.
