Xavier White is a name that has appeared on this site more than once but this is a first for Ronin. There are clear common elements between the two artists as I peer into each of their discographies – I can easily see how the idea to partner up came about. The result of this partnership is “Sudden Change”, showcasing instruments like retro keyboards, marimbas, and an extremely soulful voice with a nice reverb layered atop.
Released via Lush Records, the song is a nice pop juxtaposition to the highly introverted and sexy-based singles the label puts out. A balance always strengthens the experience of a label and “Sudden Change” was a great catch at a fitting time.
