HeRobust is one name that’s hard to escape. His live performances and production style are always sparking conversations and topping trend charts. Why? His massive collection of Soundcloud releases is in part to blame: featuring huge, distinct sounds, all backed with power, energy, and creativity. But HeRobust didn’t start out with a loyal fan following, it’s been long road for Hayden Kramer since officially labeling himself HeRobust.
Hayden originally was focused on downtempo productions, slowing growing his image via various releases and events. That same year, the electronic music landscape began to shift,
“I’ve always made southern hip hop, but I never planned on releasing any tracks like that through the Herobust project. When trap blew up, hip hop and edm basically shared the same roof. So I started releasing everything through Herobust.”
By summer of 2013, Hayden was gaining support from big-names like Diplo and his label Mad Decent, as well as other trap-loving DJ all-stars. The sudden interest in a genre that came from the south only made Hayden more proud to represent his Atlanta roots.
” There are just a lot of different perspectives there. A lot people have a lot of different ideas about what it means to be cool. It makes it a very socially intriguing place.”
Some of HeRobust’s latest projects include “Let’s Get Busy (HeRobust Remix)” and “URDNO,” an original collaboration Hayden’s cooking up with DJ/producer Cvpellv. “Lets Get Busy” remix warps Pretty Lights’ critically-acclaimed glitch-hop style, adding incredible dubstep drops and raw basslines. Only a preview is available for “URDNO,” but it’s already looking like the track will knock it out of the park, “URDNO” is set to release July 22nd.
With all this said, be sure to catch HeRobust’s set at Rowdytown III this September at the Red Rocks. HeRobust tours all the time, so bringing an exclusive experience to the greatest outside venue in the United States will be an easy feat.
