Russ Liquid and Thriftworks are two of the most popular and heavy hitting psychedelic bass music acts in the scene, and they just announced a tour that is too future to handle. The “Too Few Tour” (pronounced “too future”) will be bumping in a handful of cities throughout the South and Midwest this September.
The announcement is a bombshell for those who enjoy deep bass, stuttered 808 mayhem and scattered psychedelic soundscapes. Both artists approach the future sound differently with Russ coming from a funkier, jazzier angle and Thriftworks taking the west coast bass vibe to absurd experimental extremes. It seems the two are trying to bring the music from their respective coastlines (Russ is based in NYC, Thriftworks in the Bay Area) into the heart of the country to wreak havoc on fans who may have yet to see either producer do his dirty, funky thing.
With support from Filibusta, BlapDeli and masters of break the Dragon House Dancers, this tour promises a journey into the future of groove with tripped out sound to make you move. We’re particularly excited for his stop in Athens, GA featuring Russ Liquid, a repeat of a stop they made a while back that Jake (Thirftworks) calls “one of the strongest full fledged performances.” You can check out more about his performances, influences, and everything else in an interview we did with him here.
