Police brutality, terrorism, wrongful convictions – the world can seem like a scary place sometimes. Yet, the power is in all of our hands to put the time in to make a difference. When I heard “Dear God” not only did I hear a dope trap tune with sick lyrics layered on top, which had me strongly focused for the experience, but I was hearing something that was truly, fully different from other tracks that would be considered within that same heavy trap niche.
RYDEN and Chase Allen have both expressed an element of bravery by putting this tune out there, but made themselves stand out from the hundreds of tracks that don’t have much substance to them. “Dear God” has a message that’s highly relatable, personable, and delivers some serious soul in a tune that’s a banger.
