There is a good reason to see why the title track “Melato Nina” from Sacha Robotti’s first solo EP on Dirtybird Records earned Track of the Night for The Birdhouse 083. The deep house track is packed full of echoing vocals in a rising tide of sounds that goes from waves splashing to Güiro scratching, and beyond. It’s emotional and addictively complicated, with every listen bringing out more and more, like aerating a good red. “Low Key Goddess” goes in a different direction starting off with an innocent bassline that eventually picks you up and drags you through a nasty (the good kind) diminishing synth that may have you questioning the meaning of life just to understand how Sacha comes up with this stuff.
Although we have loved other Dirtybird releases such as “Broke The Law” that Sacha teamed up with Justin Jay & Friends last year, or his 2015 Loca Lola EP with Look Like, these solo tracks showcase the complexity and creativity of Sacha’s artistry, and we want more. Download or stream the full EP from all mediums which can be found here.
