Not long ago, French producer duo SACRE came forward with their EP called, “The Call”. Now, they are back with was happens to be a collection of remixes from a bunch of other artists. We couldn’t miss the opportunity to dig a little deeper, so here’s the full exclusive interview with SACRE:
RaverRafting: Hi guys! How did you meet and how did you start making music together?
Sukil: Hi! We met in a studio during a loooong session.
Hawaii: I had a song that needed a melody at that time, I asked Sukil just after the session to try something on it. It was so great that we decided to do something together.
RR: Your EP “The Call” was well received by the public, and now you’ve also released a remix package for it. Tell us everything! Who’s on it and how does it feel to hear so many takes on your tracks?
SACRE: Our track “The Call” was remixed by the huge Gigamesh, the great NTEIBINT and the fresh duo Chopstick&Johnjon. Then, “Stereo” was remixed by the French duo Elephanz and “Forever Young” was in the hands of the passionate French artist Uppermost. It was a discovery each time, every track is very different. We love the idea to add another artistic layer on a track. It can push the song so far in a mood you couldn’t even have imagined! The collaboration with Gigamesh was particularly rich for us. His remix is so close to the original song and at the same time so club-oriented, so efficient…it’s really beautiful to hear how it is natural for him!
RR: Do you have a favorite remix?
SACRE: Deep in our hearts, yes!
RR: “Lemonade” has over 100k streams. That must feel amazing! Are you guys satisfied with the outcome of the track?
SACRE:More than the numbers, what we like above all is the fact that people are listening in Peru, Seoul, NYC or Mexico… All those cultures are so different, it’s mad to think about that.
RR: Where do you see the French EDM Scene going to in the next couple of years?
SACRE: In clubs !
RR: Looking back on everything you’ve worked on, how do you feel your music has evolved over the time?
SACRE: At the beginning, we have experimented a lot of musical genres. Experiences and time spent on our songs brought the idea that we can trust in what we feel.
RR: Any cool plans for the nearby future?
SACRE: Yes, we are working right now on a project that will begin in November. A part to follow on Youtube. You’ll know more soon! Also, we are starting to tour with a djset for which we have completely reworked tracks of other artists in a SACRE way.
RR: And last but not least, you must tell us, what’s your favorite and least favorite thing the other does?
Hawaii: What I like is that she brings spring in the studio. What I like less is when she plays on the electronic drum while I try to mix a track.
Sukil: I love when he puts his fingers on the piano and brings colors that weren’t in my mind. I like less when he put his fingers on the guitar…
