Coming straight from Australia, the alternative/electronic trio SAFIA has recently shared their newest track, “Starlight.”
The band debuted the single earlier this summer during Splendour in the Grass Festival in Aus to a packed crowd. Needless to say, all ravers were in awe and so were we when we heard the swirling vocals combined with crisp, intoxicating beat. Overall, the track has a chill vibe that we’ve grown to love and inspires through the sincerity it seems to reflect. It’s a summer song we’ll listen to long after summer is gone.
Speaking on the release, SAFIA said, “At its core ‘Starlight’ is a song about letting go, and the world that it creates is designed to capture that feeling. In retrospect the song also represents an important shift in perspective, both creatively and personally.”
After supporting Twenty One Pilots on the Pacific Leg of their “Emotional Roadshow Tour,” SAFIA is preparing for a set of performances in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne this November, supported by Genesis Owusu. Being festival favorites. As festival favorites, SAFIA has also been announced on a number of upcoming line-ups including This That, Beyond the Valley, Origin Fields, The Grass is Greener and a headline slot for Corona Sunsets.
We’ll be looking out for more news from this full-of-potential trio while playing “Starlight” on repeat over and over again.
