May 15th 2013 – Savoy have consistently blended rock and electronica, and their upcoming EP “Three Against Nature” (set to release May 23rd for free download) is no different. From the previews of each track, the EP has a very rock-sounding feel with an electro edge. While I personally felt that their previously-released EP “Personal Legend” leaned much more towards a dubstep sound, this EP has turned things around showcasing the trio’s diversity.
On this EP their electro take is very aggressive, as apparent in the first snippet of the track “Say Yes.” However, “Make Me Feel” lacks that aggressiveness, sounding almost like a Daft Punk “Human After All” record. “I Wouldn’t Mind” epitomizes their unique rock and electronica fusion, while the last preview, “You & I” returns us to their newer house sound.
