If you’ve never seen Nicole Moudaber live, then let me give those DMVers a gentle push, and say that you need to come to U St Music Hall this Thursday, June 4th and check her out.
The Nigerian-born Lebanese techno and tech house star has been in the scene for awhile. First being a promoter in Lebanon, again in London, and then finally a lengthy self-apprenticeship that has put her in praise from her good friend Carl Cox, to Adam Beyer, Skin, Victor Calderone and more.
Her newest hit “Her Dub Material” is Nicole going with things a bit deeper, but still hits the nail on the head and will have you hypnotized till the Friday AM in DC. Her vision has always been of the “loving, amazing, ritualistic vibe” of dance music, and that’s exactly what you’ll feel at UHall.
In 2013 she released “Believe” LP climbing to the top spots of Beatport for a month, and 18 months later, this album is still within the top 15 techno albums. Incredible, and listening below, you’ll understand why.
“The underground is stronger than ever,” Nicole declared in 2013, and there’s no denying, it hasn’t changed 18 months later.
