Amanda Huff (Selfish Skin) and Cristian Strehlow (Strehlow), two experienced musicians, first met while working on an unrelated project and were soon recording songs of their own, a short time later that had several sessions worth of finished songs. The first release from these creative firestorms is a memorable electronic version of Chris Isaak’s 90s mega-hit “Wicked Games”. Utilizing a beautiful, subtle blend of bells, piano, and synths, Strehlow gives Selfish Skin’s captivating voice the ultimate backing track. The two artists do an admirable job of honoring the melancholy beauty of the original while giving “Wicked Games” their own unforgettable twist, complete with a haunting guitar riff at the very end.
