Sensation America 2012 is a new festival / electronic dance music event that will make it’s stateside debut after wowing crowds throughout Europe, South America and Asia. The preview for the event was just released today and the visuals are simply stunning.
Given the meteoric rise of electronic dance music in the United States, it was only a matter of time before major productions that have been doing it for years overseas enter the market. I think that electronic dance music is this generation’s disco and what it will evolve into is still yet to be seen.
In the end with more competition in the market, the fans win. The current landscape has Electric Daisy Carnival, Ultra Music Festival and Electric Zoo as the premiere edm festivals. With new entrants it will force these events to step up production and provide value for the fans. Hopefully we can avoid the Ultra ticket fiasco that happened to everyone who tried to get a pre-sale ticket this year.
