A few days ago, video surfaced of techno guru, Seth Troxler, walking around the crowd at TomorrowLand 2014 as he was dumbfounded by the big-room electro being played on the main stage.
The DJ performing in the clip was Dyro, and the Hardwell protege expressed his displeasure on social media about Troxler’s comments. The video clip can be viewed below:
Troxler initially tried not to respond, but due to the amount of buzz Dyro’s share created, Seth had a few words and he went hard:
@Dyro I’ve tried to be quite on this but Its going too far. 1st I don’t know who you are? Like a single clue so don’t flatter yourself.

@Dyro 2nd in a core musical theory sense, or sound design EDM is fundamentally on the bottom. I use machines you use a computer. Fact. — seth troxler (@sethtroxler) August 14, 2015
@Dyro 3rd and this is most important you brought all of this to light. You find the year old video took out a 30 sec clip to be victimised

@Dyro so please if you could stop the onslaught of your 12-23 year old uneducated fan Base to stop tweeting me it would be a pleasure. Thanx — seth troxler (@sethtroxler) August 14, 2015
@Dyro lets face the facts EDM is bad music. And it’s doubtful you would have job had your record company not paid for you to be on radio. ?

@MegaphonixMusic @Dyro a lot of people are republicans I hate them too. — seth troxler (@sethtroxler) August 14, 2015
Seth displayed his underground mentality as he clearly has no F’s to give about having a mainstream fan base. Another notable snippet is the way he distinguishes his style of music from that of “EDM”. While he understandably categorizes “EDM” as main stage music, others would argue that his music is technically EDM since it’s electronic music that people dance to.
All in all, even though big room electro isn’t his cup of tea, Troxler may be better served by focusing on his craft rather than disrespecting others. Up to this point, Dyro has garnered support from his peers and has not responded to Troxler’s tweets.
