Seven Lions Brings Bliss and Euphoria Upon Echostage [Event Review]

Seven Lions’ Journey Tour came to Washington D.C. this past Saturday and it was undoubtedly a night to remember. The night kicked off with Grum, the Anjunabeats signee started the night off with a more than exceptional set featuring a mix of hard and melodic trance. The euphoric scene provided an excellent warm up for what was to follow. The night continued as Xilent threw down classic heavy, dirty dubstep. As heads banged in unison, Xilent fired up the whole crowd by incorporating a set consisting mostly of his originals and some unreleased tracks, including a track called “Shimmy” by local Maryland artist Prismatic.

Pegboard Nerds was up next to keep the crowd going until the headliner Seven Lions. Pegboard Nerds played a mostly dubstep set but also mixed in some Monstercat bro step tracks. The lights and visuals were unbelievable throughout the night, switching between flashing strobes and lasers shooting out in all directions. As Seven Lions took the decks, his ascending diamonds lead to the giant screen right behind the DJ booth. The diamonds projected images that matched perfectly with the stunning visuals on screen behind him. The laser show in between the flashing strobes looked like it was from another planet. The lasers synced perfectly with the mood of each track shooting all over the place during the drop to spreading beautiful colors throughout the venue.

At another packed night of Echostage, the crowd seemed to enjoy every performer and ear to ear smiles could be spotted across the venue. Seven Lions played a mostly original set but switched between psy trance, melodic trance, dubstep and even some hardstyle.

Overall, the show was spectacular and Seven Lions proved his performance to be one of our favorites of the fall, in addition to his over the top productions. The Journey Tour will continue in Charlotte, North Carolina and Atlanta, Georgia this weekend, and we highly suggest catching the rest of the tour for a memorable, euphoric night.
