Two weeks ago this California raised producer teased his highly anticipated “Creation” EP. Only yesterday he officially released each diverse song for us to delve straight into. Every song is very different from one other, but also very unique. Not long ago, he gave us a taste of his diverse production skills by releasing, “Cusp” on Armada records.
Seven Lions seems to have done it again with his trance remix of Illenium’s “Fortress”. The uplifting and soothing vocals will leave you in a puddle of your own tears. The drop sounds like something from his hit single “Don’t Leave”, except with a powerful trance elements accompanying it. Here’s what Seven Lions had to say about the track.
For this remix I wanted to do kind of the opposite of what I normally do which is turn trance anthems into melodic dubstep tracks. I love that old school trance sound circa 2007 so that’s really what this song is based off of. Anyways, I had a lot of fun making this track and I hope you enjoy listening to it!
Among the other releases, “Summer Of The Occult” leans more towards his rough and rugged D&B style that we all love to hear. If you’re into Bassnectar, this track could be your Seven Lion’s calling.
However, it would not be a Seven Lions EP without hearing some beautiful melodic dubstep that he made his name on. “Creation” ft indie-electro band, Vok, captures Seven Lions’ old style perfectly. The appeasing vocals and yet powerful drop remind us of his spectacular collaboration with Myon & Shane 54, “Strangers”. Creation is certainly is his best ‘creation’ on this EP.
Seven Lions also explores his more creative side with his release of “Leaving Earth.” It contains no vocals and is no specific genre other than “electronic”. Personally, the mysterious yet beautiful song sounds like it could belong as a soundtrack in a movie. Perhaps some sort of eerie outer space movie, a suiting place for a song with the name “Leaving Earth.”
Among the other releases is a pop-progressive song ft Mike Mains, “Coming Home”. The song may not appeal to all Seven Lions fans, but it’s just another glimpse at his different musical capabilities. He also released a track called “The Journey”. It features some heavy metal guitar that Seven Lions blends perfectly with his dark dubstep. Lastly, his well known festival remix of “Falling Away” ft Lights is also available on the EP.
