There is absolutely no question that SFX Entertainment has become one of the largest, and most significant companies in the electronic music industry today, having recently acquired all of Beatport, ID&T (the Dutch company responsible for major events such as Tomorrowland and Sensation), and most recently, some smaller dance-music related companies. As if to confirm their omnipresence in the industry, they have just acquired 100% of Totem OneLove, a promotion company focused on producing events in Australia, with the most notable being Stereosonic festival (coming up very soon, throughout this November and December). Australian dance music fans could very well be treated to some expansion and improvement in their scene. CEO and chairman of SFX Entertainment, Robert F.X. Sillerman, has expressed in a statement:
“The acquisition of Totem OneLove Group is an important step as we expand into the huge Southeast Asia market…The world-class professionalism of Totem gives us the proximity, experience and platform to continue our growth strategy.”
SFX definitely been actualizing their goals of becoming a global, and comprehensive entity in the electronic music industry, as they have acquired a massive total of 52 dance music festivals to date.
