Australia has been killing the game when it comes to pushing out incredible artists. We’ve been graced with artists such as Alison Wonderland, Knife Party/Pendulum, Flume, What So Not and many more, but take it back a bit and remember Sgt Slick, who has been recognized with ARIA Music Awards and nominations as well support on “Everyday” by artists such as Tiesto, David Guetta and Swedish House Mafia.
Now, Sgt Slick brings us a new club record stateside with “Bunker Groove” released on Kaskade’s Arkade label in Los Angeles. Aside from having approval from Kaskade himself, this new track is sure to become a new club anthem. The heavy percussions and low vocal clips mix perfectly with a strong bass line creating a tribal sound that is unique yet welcome in this ever growing industry where different is key.
Sgt Slick recently shared on his Facebook page why he chose the name “Bunker Groove” as the track title:
A few times a week i walk 4 or 5 miles around my hood in Downtown LA for some exercise, and while i do that i listen to a playlist of all the new demos and productions i’m working on to figure out how i can improve them. This track always seemed to come on just as i was walking through the Bunker Hill neighborhood, so i just started calling it the Bunker Groove. After one of those walks i came home, jumped on the mic, recorded myself saying “It’s The Bunker Groove”, pitched it down, threw it on just before the drop… and there ya go!”
