Sharkoffs Delivers Amazing Signature Sound in Recent Mix [WRR Exclusive]

Sharkoffs, the mysterious DJ/Producer that’s been creating massive tunes time and time again has provided an exclusive mix for WRR. Young for the world but not for the scene, the 18-year-old from Miami keeps himself busy playing shows and steadily releasing music to a hungry loyal fan following dubbed “Finonymous.”

Sharkoffs is no newcomer, having been DJing Miami clubs since only 14 years of age. He has since played the historic Story venue along with other clubs in Miami as he climbed  the ranks in electronic music. In order for the recent high school graduate to be able to focus on his music and release it for free he operates an online insurance company on the side.

He draws inspiration largely from another American, Wolfgang Gartner, which he describes as his motivation to start producing electronic music. About Gartner he says, “he makes the kind of stuff that makes you question everything you’re doing in your studio.” Specifically, songs like “Menage e Trois” and “Wolfgang’s 5th Symphony” have had paradigm shifting effects on the artist.

His sound is unique, which is no small feat for the saturated house genre. Self described as, “Harder electro-house with a silly edge and a touch of retro video game feel” his creations are fun while packed-full with energy. Ideally he would like to engineer something that sounds like a combination of Wolfgang Gartner’s craziness, deadmau5’s production skills, and Crookers drum beats.

Another interesting aspect of Sharkoffs is his anonymity. Onstage he wears a helmet with a black visor and light up fin, completely hiding his face. He also takes special care off stage to cover his face with a ski mask and have a wardrobe change before often reappearing in the crowd along with his followers known as Finonymous. He does this to take away the audiences’ focus on him, and direct it to the music, quite a contrast to what a lot of us see in the electronic music genre.

The anonymous producer also slipped in a few IDs that sound down-right magical.
