Parisian producer Shiba San is no stranger to producing chart-topping house music anthems. His beats have come to define a new wave of bass-infused tech house, and his latest EP Downtown is no exception to the pattern.
Released on Solardo’s record label Sola, Downtown takes a more minimalist approach to Shiba San’s iconic sound with two tracks: “Downtown,” and “Crushed That.”
In the title-track, cosmic sounding synths swirl contrast against a pointed, bouncing bass line and build into a ripe, bouncing rhythm. In the EP’s second track, “Crushed That,” cheeky vocal samples reverberate against a thumping, hypnotic sounding bass line to create hypnotic track guaranteed to get feet moving on the dance floor.
