Okeechobee Arts and Music Festival is 35 days from opening the portal, and letting us venture into a utopia of music, arts, and partying in Florida sun. The first weekend in March will feature four days of non-stop music from 100+ bands & DJs across five stages.
The festival occupies 842 acres smack dab in the middle of the Florida panhandle that features a picturesque lake. Although being set inland the freshwater lake includes a beach that will make you feel like you are right on the coast, and will be the perfect setting for volleyball or just taking a nap in the sun.
Like all good festivals their will be a Ferris wheel on site near a wide array of local dishes and the trusty festival food staples.
“Yogachobee” another staple of this fest will have Yoga instructors from all over leading calming stretches and meditation over the course of the weekend.
The green initiative that Okeechobee has instated is also force to be reckoned with. Festival planners discourage the use of plastic water bottles, and encourage reusable ones with a waste not want not attitude. Okeechobee although young runs with the ease of a festival that has several years under its belt.
Finally the most important part the line-up. The diverse line-up has enough range to please every person in your group. The EDM lovers will be satiated by artists like Flume, Louis the Child, Space Jesus, and even Porter Robinson and Pretty Lights doing live sets. Alternative fans can count on some good vibes from artists like Kings of Leon, Young the Giant, and Moon Taxi. Even R&B is accounted for with the king Usher performing with The Roots.
The fact that all of these amazing factors are combined into one fest only makes us wish we could fast forward time to March. If only…
