Sidecar Tommy is the percussive backbone of Beats Antique. Aside from his contribution to the trio, Tommy has also launched his own producer side project, which brings us to “Vortex.”
The drums are going to suck you in, mostly because they’re unique to this track as opposed to some of the reoccurring pre-made loops we hear all too much. This is because Tommy recorded these drums live during a Beats Antique sound check and the rest is just future bass history.
Beats Antique hold a special place in my heart and have for a long time. My first experience live was thought altering. The way they implemented every element into the complete aesthetic of a show was unlike anything I’d ever been captivated by before.
