Sidny x Chaix is the collaborative project of vocalist SIDNY and producer Chaix. Melding uplifting indie electronic with lush R&B vocals, which are backed with a gratifying bass heavy kick, the independent Toronto-based duo has greatly contributed to the rapid popularity of the music scene in Canada.
Now, the two are hitting hard with their latest single, “Riches.” Although the pair has released music together before, this was the first track they ever wrote together. The chill, atmospheric production perfectly couples with the nonchalant, attractive vocals. Buoyant waves consistently ride the near three minute track. “Riches” the sonic translation of feel-good, perfect for a car ride with the homies. And a car ride is exactly where this track was created!
“We literally wrote the song while stuck in traffic. This is the first song that we wrote together on the way to the studio. Chaix was in the backseat with aux cord making beats on the car stereo, and Sidny was in the front seat writing/singing to it. By the time we reached the studio, the song was more or less finished.” -Sydny x Chaix
