Program is a label that shouldn’t be overlooked. The younger sibling of drum and bass label Ram Records has brought some fantastic works to the scene since its inception, and brings out an EP from Skantia this month.
The Newcastle-based producer has put together Unorthodox, a three-piece affair made with technical precision. From its lively title track with suspense-filled introduction, Skantia moves into “Run,” a choppy, beat-driven number that leaps from the speakers. There is plenty of punch packed into “Slapstik,” which is our favourite, thanks to its firing bass line.
