Grammy Award-winning producer, Skrillex, and technology kingpin Google, have teamed up on a special project for Android users. Both entities have basically pioneered the technological landscapes of modern society, so it makes sense that they would partner to create a new concept phone case; engineered to do a lot more than protect your phone. Each custom case is programmed to coincide with Nanou, a satellite infrastructure Skrillex and Google have launched into the stratosphere to provide educational information, updated daily wallpapers, and even a Constellation Mode (at night) to view the starry skies based on the user’s location.
Furthermore, there is a useful shortcut button on the back of the case that can be linked to the user’s preference – their camera, their favorite social media channel, or even Skrillex’s website. These cases are extremely limited and individually numbered, with exclusive access to Skrillex/OWSLA content for free. Fans can choose between three unique designs for the Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung Galaxy S6, and Samsung Note 4, each built with a spacial, futuristic aesthetic in mind. It’s exciting to see what EDM, technology and art can accomplish when they come together in harmony. I had this really crazy dream when I was really young. I was in my house, and in my room (this is the dream), I wake up in the dream and I look out my window and this blue light flies into my backyard. Moments later, these two aliens open the door to my room and they walk in. I remember covering my face under the covers and watching them, and just looking at them so frightened and so afraid; and it was so real. And then they just sort of walked around me, stared at me and then left the room. This was the realest dream I’ve ever had and I was super young.
