WRR has been hearing rumors from industry sources that the new Skrillex album Voltage will drop on November 8th, 2011 through Atlantic Records. This highly anticipated album has not received the same kind of pre-sale build up or hype that the Kaskade’s album Fire & Ice did, but we expect the edm world to go crazy when it does drop.
Almost the entire album was recorded, mixed and mastered on a solo laptop. The voiceovers were done with a usb based microphone and some of the tracks were cut in less than a day. It’s hard to imagine not producing in a studio, but no one ever said Skrillex was normal.
Moore recently spoke with Rock Sound last month and announced that his new album is set to be released sometime in November, but our sources have been able to confirm that the date will be November 8th.
Here is a quote from the Rock Sound Interview;
“It’s all new material and it sounds awesome. There are a few cool collaborations on it that I can’t talk about just yet but it’s still Skrillex so the tracks are all over the board, from the heaviest of the heavy one moment to somewhere else entirely next. It’s less condensed than the EP, more spread out and broad, I can’t wait for people to hear it.”
The rumored tracklist for Voltage includes a lot of songs that he’s been dropping on the Mothership Tour across the US and his recent collaboration with The Doors titled Breakn’ a Sweat.
