Sleep Thieves channel a spirit of retro-futurism in their single, “Sea Of Shadows.” Atop a cloud of ethereal arpeggios rests a wave of eerily reverberating vocals, further amplifying the haunting theme of the release. The result is a feeling that emulates a phase between the natural and astral planes, embodied by the contrast of tangibly heavy bass lines and airy synth atmospheres.
The Dublin-based trio known as Sleep Thieves has built their name on their cinematic “disco noir” sound. Having met through Twitter, the group bonded over soundtracks and vintage synthesizers, eventually leading to the inception of the project. Through their dark and dreamlike music, the artists have accumulated hundreds of thousands of streams and the support of industry influencers.
