With his first EP release on Monstercat confirmed as happening, Slippy is proving he has no shortage of music before then, Monstercat releasing his “Metaphysical” for the masses. The single explores a middle-space that usually separates the melodic side and heavy side of a bass track. Slippy meshes together the two parts of the tune, the classic-dubstep feel in the drop being the zest that completes the package here.
“With Metaphysical I tried to strike a balance between melodic and heavy elements. Being that this is my first dubstep release in a while, I wanted to step up the energy level while maintaining interesting melodic content.”
While pursuing his a degree in commercial music via Florida State University, Alex Swartwout has received support from Excision, Diplo, Dillon Francis, Seven Lions, NGHTMRE, Party Favor and more. Swartwout has been releasing with Monstercat for 4 years now, initially under the Slips & Slur alias. Now fully branded as Slippy and platformed from his successful past, this soloist is on an incline to say the least.
