Sloss Music and Arts Festival released the line-up for their third annual festival this morning, and I must say the festival has returned with a vengeance.
The first year included a diverse and edgy line-up, but the second year did not quite live up to the bar they set in the inaugural year.
I have to admit I held my breath and hoped for the best as I opened the email at 7:30 this morning. My eyes brightened as I read the headliners, and my my arms shot up in praise as I continued reading.
The headliners which include Alabama Shakes who, just like the name leads you to believe, are returning to their home state for this festival. Widespread Panic with their cult following, Odesza representing the new age of EDM that is making its way in to the melting pot of culture that is Birmingham, and finally Sturgill Simpson’s raspy and enveloping tunes wrap the first line headliners with a nice little country bow. The lineup includes over forty bands and DJ’s that just like Birmingham represent all genres of music, and all walks of life.
The festival will take place the 15-16th of July not only will your blood be boiling from the excitement of the music, but as Alabama always promises the weather no doubt will also play a factor.
Tickets are available now and can be purchased here. First tier prices are already sold out so make sure you act fast!
