Each year Sonic Bloom takes festival ingenuity to the next level, consistently incorporating dynamic features which set this event apart from all others of its kind. The newly released schedule for this year is demonstrative of that, presenting some of the most interesting and experimental live performances and workshops to its attendees. Sets by VibeSquaD, Tipper, The Polish Ambassador, EOTO, Opiuo, and Shpongle occupy headlining spots this year, starting with VibeSquaD on Thursday and ending with the Sonic Bloom Orchestra next Sunday night. The orchestra features a star-studded lineup including EOTO, Break Science, ZILLA & Dirtwire ft. David Satori from Beats Antique plus ill-?sha, saQi, Kaminanda on guitar and a few surprise guests. To make it even better, sets on the Bloom Stage will be played through the largest Funktion-One sound system ever assembled outdoors in Colorado, and some will include aerialists, light shows and fire performers. Check out the full schedule below.
Live music is only one component of this conscious community gathering. Yoga classes, live painting, and workshops will also be available. One workshop in particular, given by artist Andrew “Android” Jones, will present festival-goers with the opportunity to witness the creation of an electro-mineral portrait from a live model using the latest advancements in digital software and mineral hardware.
Probably the most radical element of this year’s festival can be found in an unlikely place. The Oasis is a transportable community bathhouse and art installment which brings wood-fire saunas, private cedar-lined showers, grooming stations, massage and bodywork zones to large-scale events. This year the Oasis will also feature the Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps giant walk-in bathtub, which sprays users with a peppermint-infused foam as a unique way to get clean. Those who choose to test out this innovative shower can also enjoy live music from the tub DJ booth.
To top it all off, Sonic Bloom is teaming up with Conscious Alliance to host an “Art That Feeds” food drive. Festival-goers can donate 10 non-perishable food items for free Sonic Bloom poster. Conscious Alliance always encourages low-sodium, health-oriented donations. Sorry, Ramen noodles will be not accepted.
There’s only seven days left until Sonic Bloom graces the American Safari Ranch in South Park, Colo., during the summer solstice. Tickets are still available and can be purchased here. Please note that Tier 2 GA tickets will no longer be available after midnight on Sunday June 15.
