We live in era of big data, safe bets, and taking cautious steps to decrease the negative effects of risks. No one takes a shot at new ideas to see what happens out of passion. Enter Superdead. The new label, based out of Philadephia, does this and more. The label aims to give a platform to artists who have great music but have been rejected by establishment labels. This label isn’t trying to impress you with typical marketing technique and have a lot to showcase in 2017.
Superdead’s first release is of Philly-based solo artist Magna, his single is a super-intricate mix of old-school and new-school, showcasing throwback hip-hop beats and vocals layered with a mid-tempo bass feel that is hard to call “this” genre or “that” genre. Superdead captures that goal of their mission with this release and have plenty more to releasing going forward.
