Spring Weekend in Panama City Beach, Florida has seriously outdone itself in 2015. Big artists from previous years included acts like Arty and Krewella, but Dada Life and Tchami?! It’s clear that SW is growing exponentially and gaining serious credibility in multiple facets of the EDM industry.
Dada Life
In case you’ve been living under a rock, know that Dada Life is one of the biggest names is electro-house. Their album “Rules Of Dada” has become house-hold name; the phenomenal 11-track album was the last element Dada needed to skyrocket their Dada Land universe, filled with bananas, champagne, two hilarious twins, and huge hits. Today tracks like “Born to Rage” and “Freaks Have More Fun” continues to circulate the internet and make ragers everywhere smile. Vice also made a documentary, “Seven Days In Dada Land,” that gives a detailed view into their lives, music, and shows.
Tchami
The catholic priest-dressing Tchami has breathed new life into deep house virtually single-handed. Easily, his remix of Mercer’s “Turn It Up” is one of his most popular to date, blending great hooks, a bit of pop, and atmospheric effects with traditional melodies and tempos of deep house, dubbed “future house.” His other releases point in similar direction as “Turn It Up (Tchami Remix,)” but all show off a solid level of uniqueness that deliver a relaxing, slightly-hypnotizing sense of contentment with each passing moment.
Spring Weekend has also locked down a pre-party at the Coliseum in Tallahassee, FL Thursday, April 9th.
Two artists that are familiar with the Coliseum stage and who’ve also spiked in popularity in recent years, Kennedy Jones and Henry Fong, with being going hard all through the night. Henry Fong was my first in-person DJ interview, good times, check out his 20K mix and the exclusive interview here.
From Zeds Dead to Henry Fong, 3LAU, Brillz and still more to be announced, it’s safe to say your feet should be firmly planted on the PCB beach, fist in the air.
Last week, Spring Weekend hooked readers up with a chance to win (2) free tickets to the entire two-day festival! Look just below or go to our Spring Weekend giveaway post here to enter.
