Spring Weekend 2015 is putting together something the Gulf Coast hasn’t quite seen before. An electronic music festival directly on the beaches of Florida. If you caught our post last month, you know that Spring Weekend has massive plans for this year’s festivals, from huge watersides to a sick artist lineup and more. Even the DJs announced thus far is creating a huge buzz, here’s why:
Zeds Dead
With over 3 million followers on SoundCloud, Zeds Dead is now a mainstream name in EDM, but only due to their their not-so-mainstream sound and live sets that tend to morph as the years pass. Zeds Dead first started dominating in the American Dubstep scene in 2009- 2010 with historical breakthrough tracks like “White Satin” and “Eyes On Fire (Zeds Dead Remix).” Through the years, as new genres formed and existing genres repopularized, Zeds Dead was keen to put their own spin on new sounds as well as consistently trying out new genres and vibes live. Today, their audience is broad; from EDM veterans to newbies, young and old, everyone loves something about Zeds Dead.
3LAU
Known for his powerful, vivid and colorful house sound, as well as his infamous “3LAU HAUS” series. 3LAU’s success was born through Justin’s entrepreneurial spirit, one-of-a-kind music taste, production skill, and a handful of landmark mashup releases (in 2011-2012) that set trends and marks a special moment for all those there to experience. More recently, Justin has released originals on Revealed Records, Mainstage Music, tours a ton, and continues to stay true, dropping new mashup packs every now and again. 3LAU will surly be playing everything from originals, to high-quality house tracks from underrated corners of the genre, as well as bringing his party spirit to the Spring Weekend night stage.
Brillz
Trap pioneer and one of many members of the TWONK team, Brillz, will be getting folks turned up on his infectious combination of trap and bass that typically leads to minds being melted. Brillz has remained relevant through the rise and stabilization of trap music. Tracks like “Clarity (Brillz Remix)” mirror the late 2012, early 2013 trap period where underground dudes whom had already been focusing on this sound were getting massive attention. Yet, Brillz continues to make quality, cutting-edge sounds that challenge the norms of the genre that Brillz, indirectly and directly, help popularize.
With all this said, Spring Weekend is only getting started when it comes to lineup announcements. The Panama City Beach-based festival is set to release a handful more DJs from various background to create a eclectic and well-rounded festival experience.
