Up-and-coming DJ group, Corporate Slackrs, will be destroying Spring Weekend’s day stage this Friday. Set to play April 11th at 4 pm, their experimental style and passion for music makes the CS experience something unforgettable. Corporate Slackrs, composed of AJ Ironman, Sean Reilly, and Devin Meadow, is one of many incredible new DJ acts that Spring Weekend has booked for this year’s lineup. Krewella, Pegboard Nerds, Bassjackers, Arty and many more are all packed into the 2-day timeframe, making Spring Weekend 2014 the most individualistic electronic festivals in the south.
“The whole atmosphere is amazing at Spring Weekend. People around our age partying to our music is a great feeling. Then you add the beach, great weather, and a lot of good looking women, how can you have a bad time?” – Corporate Slackrs
Corporate Slackrs showcases a huge catalog of crowd-killers, my personal favorite being: “Paul Franks.” Even though a short preview is only available, the macho-melody blended with a high-energy backdrop remains fresh and interesting no matter how many times you listen. Other impressive singles include their Beatport-banger “Smash” which they produced with Miami-House artist Landis and “Down To This (Corporate Slackrs Remix,)” a House-Trap hybrid that puts a new vibe on the Chuckie and Dzeko & Torres original.
After meeting at a show of AJ’s in February 2012, the trio saw the potential and soon combined their talents to form Corporate Slackrs. AJ is the groups lead DJ while Devin and Sean weigh in more on production side of CS. However they work it, the three have found their forte; each release continues to be bigger than the last and Corporate Slackrs has garnered all-star support from DJs like Steve Aoki, Laidback Luke, and Bingo Players.
Corporate Slackrs contains the right type of dynamism to maintain recognition in the hyper-competitive electronic music scene. But for one reason: the music. Given enough time, CS could easily be the next DVBBS & Borgeous, or maybe something different and better. Regardless of speculation, be sure to catch Corporate Slackrs throwing down for the 2nd year in-a-row, this weekend, at Spring Weekend 2014.
“The Corporate Slackrs sound is “Good Music.” You don’t know why but it just makes you want to dance regardless of what genre it is.” We feel like we are on the bubble and 2014 is our year to show everyone that we are in this for the long run. We are making all types of music and want to be on everyones radar. The last thing we want is to be categorized as a “House” group or “Trap” group etc. This year we are building a team around us. We have a plan this year and we are going to reach our goals. – Corporate Slackrs
