The number of male DJ’s and producers has continued to skyrocket. But the EDM scene has a growing female population beginning with Brooklyn native Star Eyes, a 15-year DJ veteran. Star Eyes has always been known for her heavy bass style music. Her style branches into many different genre’s of heavy bass music like ‘grime’ and ‘wizard bass’, but more modernly categorized as dubstep.
She was one of the first female drum & bass DJs in the US. She was a member of the B.A.S.S. Crew, Eklektic, and genre-bending DJ duo Syrup Girls (once called “New York’s best-kept secret” by New Yorker music critic Sasha Frere-Jones). She has opened up gigs for Diplo, Moby, The XX, The Streets, and Girl Talk.
If you love underground music and bass you won’t be missing Star Eyes’ set at Camp Bisco Eleven July 12. We will be there taking pictures. Come by, say hello, and enjoy the dominant bass.
