Starya, an LA-based producer and vocalist formerly known as Tuff Ghost, has released a new club-pop track titled “Wet.” Known for her electronic pop soundscapes, Starya blends her skills in singing, producing, and mixing to create music that captures the essence of real-life environments.
“Wet,” is inspired by the bloghouse style and combines club-pop elements. The track features Starya’s ethereal vocals, electro synth lines, and distinctive sound design, creating an immersive nightclub atmosphere. The single starts with a strong kick drum and real-life rain recordings, followed by echoing vocals and a build-up of rhythmic elements, hi-hats, and synth stabs, leading into Starya’s vocals.
Having collaborated with house producer Durante and remixed tracks for DJ/producer Mija, Starya has also supported Mija on her nationwide tour. As Starya, she has opened for well-known electronic music artists such as Skrillex, Justice, Jamie xx, Boys Noize, Kill The Noise, Zedd, and 2manydjs, showcasing a hybrid of DJ and live performance elements.
Starya’s music reflects her deep connection to warehouse rave atmospheres and her roots in the bloghouse era, a significant period in LA’s dance music history. Her previous release, “Gradient,” was noted for its bass-heavy sound and pop vocals.
“Wet” exemplifies Starya’s ability to blend different musical elements to create a vibrant and engaging listening experience, adding another notable track to her discography.
