In today’s society it isn’t new or shocking news that DJs and producers are the rock stars of our generation. Yes putting out hit records is great and cool, but with all this fame and publicity couldn’t one of these modern day rock stars use their powerful overcast to really make a difference in the world? Well dance music legend Steve Angello has gone beyond the music to help those in need.
This week marked the release of one of the most sought after tracks in dance music. After almost a year and a half, the ex-mafia member has finally released his track “Children of the Wild” with the powerful vocals from Mako’s Alex Seaver. This track features a beautiful melody along with power lyrics from Seaver alongside a choir of children that is sure to send shivers down your spine.
This is one of the most emotional tracks Angello has ever delivered and the message involved with it is an even deeper one. This track was released in conjunction with Save the Children and its Nepal Disaster Relief Fund. During the month of June the track will exclusively be released through Spotify and all the revenue raised through the streaming service will be directly donated to the cause.
This isn’t the first time Steve Angello has gone the extra mile to help those in need. Steve Angello has also been running his own organization, The Size Foundation, which helps children in need all over the world.
It is refreshing to see that with all the money and fame that their are DJs that want to make a difference in this world beyond music. Hopefully others will follow in the footsteps of Angello and help beat the stereotypes attached to the dance music scene.
