Fresh out of the minds of three household names in electronic dance music right now is “Freak”. Deorro is already having a solid week after his collaboration with R3hab, on “Flashlight,” hit number one on Beatport yesterday. While Diplo carouses around California with his usual band of miscreants and Aoki is enjoying himself in Vegas – made known thanks to social media.
Now onto the track. It reels you in with an infectious drumbeat then introduces interesting lyrics. Just when you get comfortable bobbing your head, the first drop hits and you are free to move about the cabin. I really enjoy the distinct influence that each artist has on this song, from the slowed down trap drop of Diplo to the bounce of Deorro and colorful synth waves of Steve Aoki.
