This Friday, Stooki Sound will be bringing back their heavy hitting bass vibes to New York City at Slake. If you haven’t heard of them, not to worry we’re here to put you on their radar. In the past few months they have grown significantly in the trap scene, and for good reason. Fresh off of shows opening for Dillon Francis, Flosstradamus, and festivals all over, 2015 is shaping up very nicely for the duo.
Stooki Sound is one half DJ Lukey (Luke Hippolyte), a hip hop enthusiast, and Jelacee (Jamal Alleyne), a well diversified, edm beatsmith. Hailing from London, this pair brings swagger for days with their grimy, hip-hop influenced beats. Their first single, “Ball So Hard”, got them on the map with their fellow UK trapster, Hucci. Since then, their tracks have gained the respect and ears of the trap community, including “Flex” (a collaboration with Regulators), spaced out downtempo track “Uppers”, and “Work It”, a Missy Elliott remix you have been missing all of your life.
Not only does Stooki Sound bring us nights we want to remember but can’t, they are also involved in their own clothing, jewelry, and visuals company, which makes them stand out among the rest. By combining their three main elements, Sound, Vision, & Play, Stooki Sound will continue to grow the trap culture for years to come. This will be a show you will not want to miss, so grab your tickets here, but you should probably leave your mom at home.
