Anonymous new duo Stylus & Wax deliver a double debut with their pioneer EP Let Yourself — the first EP to drop from the recent label Passion Trax Records.
At first listen, it’s clear that the mysterious players in the shadows are no rookies to the game. The pair that makes up Stylus & Wax are said to be “no stranger to the dance world either, having played in multiple clubs across the UK and one of them even taking to the stage at the world famous Ministry of Sound.” While we have our suspicions as to who this talented duo consists of, let’s keep the focus on what we think will be the first of many stellar EPs to come from them.
Let Yourself EP consists of two uplifting house tunes, the title track “Let Yourself” and “I See You Say.” Both tracks are packed with punchy, harmonious beats, flooded by piano riffs and touches of sweet-sounding sax. As festival season rolls in, we’ve got no doubts that you’ll be hearing the entirety of Let Yourself played in many sets this summer.
Passion Trax Records is the exciting new independent imprint from Ryan MacKay, founder of RMX Music Group and DJ/Producer Liam Youngson, which is making waves in the House music panorama. The label is said to have one focus: to recognize, showcase and support new and upcoming House producers with a rich and unique flair. Keeping to their word, Passion Trax’s debut EP from Stylus & Wax successfully encompasses all of the aforementioned foundation qualities of the label and is one that you’re going to want to get your hands on pronto.
