Detroit-based producer Christopher Sullivant AKA SULLY first broke his way into the electronic music scene in March of 2019. After a series of self-releases, he hit the road with Luzcid and Champagne Drip for their “Double Vision” tour. After touring with the boys for a bit Sully made his way onto the Ascension Tour with Wakaan label king, Liquid Stranger, in 2020.
Since then he’s released a string of highly anticipated tracks including the “ Brainstorm” EP (Wakann), an official remix for Quix’s “Gunnin’ For You” (Dimmak), his breakout single “Duck Hummus” (Wakaan) which ranked #1 on the Beatport and SoundCloud Dubstep charts and of course his bass-heavy summer anthem “Right About Now”.
The mystery producer from South Carolina we’ve come to know as SuperAve., is a true product of the ’90s. Know for blending futuristic heavy sound design and griddy 90’s hip-hop, SuperAve. has quickly made a name for himself within the bass music community.
Jumping onto the scene in 2019 the talented producer first caught our attention with his release “Astros” via The Pound (Lost Dogz). Since then he’s released huge records such as “2047”,” Open Up” and “Conspiracy”. His Hip-Hop meets bass meets wonky design style is what has brought him attention from his peers such as Zeds Dead, Jantsen, Subtronics, Mersiv, and Peekaboo. He’s also landed himself some major releases with Ganja White Night’s SubCarbon Records “Been That” and MorFlo Records “Dreams”, and “CHROME”.
So you combine Superave’s mission to pay respect to the pioneers of the hip-hop he grew up on with the eclectic array of genres Sully loves to present to the electronic community and you get pure magic. In the form of their latest EP- “Interflow“.
Interflow starts off with two tracks (although we hear there’s more brewing), “Mug” and “Slip Up”. Both tracks really give you a taste of the masterminds behind the EP and just how well they work together. Mug is a certified banger, giving you that wonkyness you expect from any Wakaan release with plenty of highs and lows to guarantee the hype. Slip Up works you up from the beginning with the ultimate buildup (That booty clapping kind) leading into a dub heavy drop sure to cause some whiplash from the hair/headbanging.
“Superave. and I first got in touch over social media about 2 years ago now after a friend of mine showed me his music. We became friends instantaneously and our running joke after working together so many times is that we share the same brain when writing music. Both tracks display the blend of our sonic pallets so well and that’s generated from the chemistry we have when writing together. COUNTLESS hours went into this EP to make sure it was just right and we’re so proud of how both tracks turned out.” – Sully
