After 6 years of festivals, Summer Set Music and Arts Festival announced Saturday that they will not be returning for 2018. The festival, held in Somerset, Wisconsin, began in 2012 and has previously hosted headliners from Bassnectar, Deadmau5, GRiZ, Zedd, and even The Wu-Tang Clan in 2014. Now, it will shut its gates for the 2018 festival season, following a trend of once stand-out EDM music festivals canceling events, or shutting down entirely, in recent years.
“We are taking time to reflect on the vision and direction of the festival, and therefore will not be hosting Summer Set in 2018,” the festival announced across social media.
Last summer marked the end of festivals including “Counterpoint Music and Arts Festival,” “Wakarusa,” and “All Good,” point to major shifts in the music and festival industry that are beginning to be once again reflected in the 2018 festival circuit.
