Summet and Reeka Drop Emotional New Collab ‘Solitude’

Hardships are temporary, and there is more to life than loneliness. That’s the simple yet vital message in Summet’s new release, “Solitude”. The single is a Covid-inspired effort to highlight the struggles of isolation and remind himself that “eventually, the feeling(s) will end or shift into something new”.

In collaboration with Reeka, a new electronic artist from Egypt, the track crafts a gorgeous and stimulating landscape, undoubtedly proving these two producers to be ‘artists to watch’.

Solitude’s dreamy atmosphere takes you to beautiful lands beyond your bedroom, yet keeps you grounded with sweet guitar and piano chords that feel so deeply human. Through forlorn lyrics carried by soft and hopeful melodies, the first half stirs a strong sense of longing, “representing the loneliness” of lockdown, but in it’s second half the fluttering melodies and eccentric percussive patterns take the reins and make you want to dance away the heartache.

While this track shows Summet’s progression and maturation as a producer, his signature playful flutes, punchy kicks, and powerfully sincere lyricism continue to shine bright. “Solitude” comes as the first work from his upcoming debut album, set for release in May of 2022 on KUMO Collective.
