This Memorial Day Weekend, Sunset Music Festival and the Electronic Music Alliance (EMA) will make EDM festival history by hosting the first ever interactive eco-activation area for attendees to learn, enjoy, and give back to the environment. Planet SMF is a one-of-a-kind festival experience offering exhibits and demonstrations where ragers can take a break from the crowds and engulf themselves in Mother Nature through Aquaponic structures, Electronic Waste Art, and Urban Gardening.
If saving the planet sounds a bit too heavy to add to your weekend plans, worry not. Planet SMF will also be providing a free solar powered phone charging station, treating festival goers to sick arts and crafts projects, and even featuring a bike that powers spin art on to old vinyl records. Ken Jordan, member of the legendary Crystal Method and co-founder of EMA, will be at Planet SMF all Saturday to meet and greet with fans, answer questions, and talk more about EMA’s platform to further the understanding that the dance community can be an agent for change to re-power the scene, and help re-power the world.
