With 2 days to go until the kick off of Suwanee Hulaween, thousands of attendees are preparing for a weekend of music and celebration at the four-day, sold-out Florida festival. But with the recent announcement of the festival’s charitable causes, music isn’t the only thing to celebrate this weekend.
In coordination with Silver Wrapper and Purple Hat, Hulaween has teamed up with the String Cheese Incident to run a pay-per-view webcast of three SCI sets on Saturday night, with every dollar donated to hurricane relief funds in Florida and Puerto Rico. The stream will include the band’s much anticipated ‘Night of the Loving Dead’ set, with musical selections inspired by the feeling and principles of love.
Puerto Rico is still largely without food or power, and thousands of residents in Florida and the island are still waiting on basic relief provisions and disaster assistance after being rocked by Hurricane’s Irma and Matthew. As a 5th year festival and a staple in the Florida music scene, the festival is calling on fans to give back to the larger community and support those whose lives were affected by the back-to-back disasters.
In addition to the live stream, Hulaween has organized a food drive for a local Florida charity ‘Love Inc.’ and will donate all proceeds of Thursday’s pre-party to additional disaster relief funds. If you’re not attending this weekend’s festival, you can pre-order access to the live stream here or stream directly from Nugs.TV.
